AOC and Cori Bush Slammed By Progressives For Voting Yes on Railroad Contract, Caving to Democrats

[ad_1]

It is always a good time when conservatives can watch the left get ticked off and rip on their own when they’re not far-left enough. And the far-left is really ticked off at Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Cori Bush (D-MO).

The two “Squad” members who portray themselves as progressives and brave fighters against the establishment, Ocasio-Cortez and Bush, voted in favor of the recent bill signed into law by President Joe Biden forcing the nation’s railroad unions to accept a contract in order to avert a possible nationwide strike.

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), issued a heated response to the votes of longtime members Ocasio-Cortez and Bush.

“Biden and his administration sold out workers when they imposed this terrible contract on railroad workers through the antiquated Railway Labor Act (RLA). We disagree and are disappointed with the decision of DSA members Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Cori Bush to needlessly vote to enforce the TA [tentative agreement].”

The Squad Betrays Their Own

While members of the Squad love to tout their progressive bonafides, their votes, at least in the case of the union railroad workers, tell a different story. Of all of the Squad members, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) was the only one to vote against forcing a contract on union members.

The DSA praised her vote, saying, “We are proud of DSA member Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s vote against the TA, and for sick days. Any vote by Congress to impose a bad contract on workers sides with the boss, and contradicts democratic socialist values.”

In addition to Ocasio-Cortez and Bush, Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) also voted in favor. Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), often a Squad ally, also voted in favor of the bill. However, it seems he was spared the wrath of the DSA.

DSA Class Unity is an offshoot of sorts from the DSA. They describe themselves as working “both within the DSA and outside of it to support the development of class struggle politics.”

They are done with AOC, Bush, and Bowman and their public socialism and private votes with Nancy Pelosi. They have begun to circulate an online petition to have three expelled from DSA membership.

Progressives in Name Only!

The statement from DSA Class Unity said in part, “The representatives have turned their backs on the movement that brought them to office. The black mark they have left on the name of socialism will be a liability for American socialists well into the future. We condemn the traitorous actions of these representatives and call for their immediate censure and expulsion from the Democratic Socialists of America.”

But if DSA Class Unity would have done their homework, they would have discovered that this is not the first time that AOC has gone against traditional socialist “values.”

In October, twice in the same week, AOC was heckled by progressives.

The first incident came at a town hall event, where she was ridiculed for supporting what is essentially a blank check from the Biden administration for the war in Ukraine. What was at issue at the second town hall event was unclear. The one thing that was clear was chants of “AOC has got to go!”

As the crowd gets rowdy, AOC goes backstage to simultaneously pout and collect herself. She comes back out and tells the audience, turning on to “listen, listen, ok!” She also turns on her Bronx Latina accent faster than Hillary Clinton could ever muster a southern accent for a black crowd.

Cori Bush is of course famous for embracing the term “birthing people,” and her over-the-top hypocrisy for spending $70,000 for her own private security while continuing to call for defunding the police.

It must come as a shock to loyal rank and file socialists to discover that their poster child AOC is nothing but an establishment fraud who likes to spout progressive ideas, but more often than not is voting with Nancy Pelosi and stabbing them in the back.
