Historic Air India-Boeing Deal to Create 1Million Jobs

President Joe Biden praised Air India’s decision to buy 220 Boeing planes, describing it as a “historic agreement.”

The president said, “The United States can and will lead the world in manufacturing. I am proud to announce today the purchase of over 200 American-made aircraft through a historic agreement between Air India and Boeing.”

“This purchase will support over one million American jobs across 44 states, and many will not require a four-year college degree. This announcement also reflects the strength of the U.S.-India economic partnership,” President of the Unites States added further.

In addition, the president hoped in his remarks to further strengthen the alliance by tackling common global issues and fostering a more safe and prosperous future for all.

During a telephonic conversation with President Joe Biden about the AI-Boeing contract, Prime minster of India, Narendra Modi expressed his happiness with the growing India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, which has led to brisk growth across all sectors.

Both leaders hailed the news of a historic deal between Air India and Boeing as an inspiring case of reciprocal collaboration that will contribute to the creation of new job opportunities in both nations. PM Modi also asked Boeing and other US businesses to take advantage of the chances presented by India’s developing civil aviation industry.

The first aircraft will go into service in late 2023, and the rest will follow starting in 2025. The decision, according to Tata Sons and Air India Chairman N Chandrasekaran, is a crucial step in achieving Air India’s goal as it transforms in the areas of safety, customer service, technology, engineering, network, and human resources.
