New Redesigned Apple TV For Mac Screenshots Leak Ahead Of Possible Release

Apple is planning an update to the Apple TV app on the Mac, according to a new report. The company’s redesign is included in the latest macOS 13.3 beta but is currently disabled, it’s said.

However, 9to5Mac was able to get the updated interface to work, giving us our first look at the updated Apple TV app on a Mac.

The main change to the new app appears to be the addition of a new sidebar that will be used for navigation, giving the Mac parity with the TV app that’s already available on the iPad.

Sections for Apple TV, Store, Library, Devices, and Playlists will be offered.

The “Apple TV” section includes dedicated sections for “Watch Now” as well as Apple TV+. You’ll also see quick access to any Apple TV Channels to which your subscribed, such as MLS Season Pass, Showtime, or Starz.

The Store category will give people access to content via the iTunes Store, while Library will display all of the content that is already associated with the given Apple ID. That’s also where active rentals will appear.

9to5Mac notes that’s as much as it can glean from the new interface for now, and it’s currently unclear if this new look app will be unveiled as part of the final macOS 13.3 release or not.

Apple is expected to make macOS 13.3 available to the public within weeks, possibly as soon as the end of this month.
