Documentary Featuring AOC Totally Bombs, Makes Less Than $10,000

Socialist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) was heavily featured in a climate change documentary that debuted this weekend on 120 screens and promptly flopped, pulling in less than $10,000.

The paltry numbers for To The End come despite favorable critic reviews and a summary that pushes a sense of urgency.

“Stopping the climate crisis is a question of political courage, and the clock is ticking,” an entry at Box Office Mojo reads. “Over three years of turbulence and crisis, four young women fight for a Green New Deal, and ignite a historic shift in U.S. climate politics.”

A ticking clock and a ‘historic’ fight weren’t enough to draw people into theaters. The movie earned just $9,667 on its opening weekend.

For those not interested in the math, that amounts to $80.56 per screen. That’s roughly six or seven tickets per theater depending on where you saw it and the ticket price at that location.

AOC Movie Flops

Perhaps the problem is that AOC’s movie doesn’t have a happy ending.

The Daily Mail says the documentary follows “her (AOC) and other campaigners … as they grapple with new challenges of leadership and power and work together to defend their generation’s right to a future.”

That fight involves the Green New Deal, a far-left socialist boondoggle designed to stifle ingenuity and technological advancement by pursuing exclusively environmentally pure avenues to power the country.

“Their effort failed,” the Daily Mail writes, “with the bill voted out of the Senate on largely part lines before it was even debated.”

Who wants to spend an hour and a half watching a bunch of people failing at their ultimate goal?

Not Her First Film

If only more people wanted to date her, AOC’s movie surely would have scored higher at the box office.

$80 per screen.

Even with a review by movie critic Nick Allen who said To The End is “inspiring to see” and is poised to “ignite more Americans to take action.”

This wasn’t AOC’s first time being featured in a documentary. She was followed in another movie by the same director titled Knock Down the House, which told the story of the 2018 midterms and her shocking ascension to Congress, along with other far-left Squad members.

And it might not have been her worst effort. Feast your eyes on this bats*** crazy short film she narrated in 2019 extolling the virtues of the Green New Deal, reminding viewers that the world will end in 12 years, and comparing the fight against climate change to World War II.

In that film, AOC promotes a plan to retrofit every building in America and reminds everyone that we only have 12 years to “change everything.”

Now, of course, we’re down to 9 years.

The film included illustrations of windmills on the front lawn of the White House, and depicted a scenario in which Miami is hit by a hurricane in the near future, submerging the city “underwater for the last time.”

As for To The End, AOC can rest easy knowing there was some positive feedback, not just from critics, but from those who at least viewed the trailer.

“The funniest movie of the year,” one viewer wrote.

Another added, “This movie deserves the Academy Award of ‘Best Woke Documentary’.”

Go read the trailer reviews. They’re hilarious. In fact, if you screened nothing but people reading reviews to AOC’s movie, you’d probably gross more than $10,000.
